Yuri drove Kame back home when the police was done with work and smiled slightly at him when she stopped the car. “Kame-chan, maybe you should stop working for me.”, she said and saw Kame’s dark glance in his eyes.

“I can’t, I need the money, Yuri, please do not throw me out. I will go on the street and get my money there when you do this”, he answered enraged.

Yuri sighed deeply and smiled sadly at the boy. Normally she would have thrown him out, no matter what he was menacing. But the fact that the street was much more dangerous than her place made her weak and she allowed him to work for her. Even though she hoped that someday someone would come to bring Kame out of this hole, out of this dark side of the society.

“You can work for me, but only because I don’t want you to sink much deeper in the brink of society. And I am really afraid that something could happen to you when you are alone on street.”, she said honestly and saw Kame got lost in his thoughts.

“I need the money”, he only said and heard her whispering a silent “I know…” before he left the car and went back to his apartment.

Kame was still staring into the mirror in front of him and he still felt the heat where the man touched him harshly. He wouldn’t get these thoughts away for a long time, but he tried to concentrate on the few good sides in his life and tried to find some sleep.

In his dreams he saw his teacher talking to him, and when he woke up he breathed in deeply – When did it happen the last time that someone was caring about him – except Yuri.

Ryo sat in his living room and stared out of the window. He didn’t know why he always cared for people who were in trouble, but he just couldn’t look away and ignoring that fact.

He knew Yoko was afraid that he’d slip in such problems like yesteryears, but he had the feeling to be stronger and more cool-headed than he was some years ago.

The doorbell rang and he smiled brightly when he saw Jin and Jun standing out there. “Hey guys, thanks for coming by”, Ryo said and let them walking in his apartment.

“What do you want?”, Jun asked when Ryo placed the cups with tea on the table in front of them.

“I need your help”, Ryo sat down towards them and rubbed above his head. “I was at Kame’s place today.”

“I had the feeling that something is wrong with him, because he wasn’t in school since three days, and I was worried, so I wanted to visit him and his family”, Ryo explained. “Do you know something about his current situation?”  The boys who were only shaking their heads and Ryo leaned back in his chair. He already counted with that answer.

“That’s what I thought”, Ryo whispered and rubbed his chin. “I went there and Kame opened the door, and it seemed like he got beaten up, but I didn’t get the chance to talk to him, because he smashed the door”, Ryo waited for a reaction from the others.
“What the hell happened to him?”, Jun said slowly and looked at Jin.

“I have no idea”, Jin answered absent-minded and felt a pain in his chest. He always liked Kame, they have been such good friends and it hurt him to see that the rug got pulled out from under Kame.

“How close are you to him?”, Ryo wanted to know.

“I know him since forever. We grew up together and he moved with his family to another apartment ten years ago, since then we drifted apart a little bit, but we were always best friends till five years ago, when he suddenly got more and more closed and I wasn’t able to reach him anymore. I didn’t think of anything bad, because I just thought he searches for new friends and he wanted to go another way than I did”, Jin said and saw Jun nodding next to him.

“Same with me, but I know him since seven years, till he joined the same school as I did. We were close friends till he drifted apart five years ago”, Jun explained. “Sensei, do you think something is wrong with him?”, Jun swallowed the knot in his throat. He was worried about Kame, even though their friendship was almost broken.

“I really don’t know it, but the thing that someone beats him up, and the fact that no one sees his parents since years makes me worrying about him and his situation. But it seems that he doesn’t want to speak to anyone and he wants to solve all his problems on his own. I think he believes he has to carry the whole thing on his own and he doesn’t need anyone else around him”, Ryo said and looked at the boys.

“It seems you know what you are talking about?”, Jun said slowly.

“Yes, I was a loner too, but I recognized that it’s important to have friends around and to have someone to talk to”, Ryo smiled and took a sip of the tea.

“What can we do in this situation?”, Jin wanted to know.

“I am not sure about it. I wanted to know how much you know, but it seems we are at the beginning. But maybe you can get to know a little bit more than I can, because you aren’t a teacher. I asked him again to join the music club, but I don’t know if he’d come.”

“I can try to visit him”, Jin suggested and saw Jun and Ryo nodding shortly.

“Try it, but I don’t think it will work out”, Jun answered.

“What do you think, Jin?”, Jun asked when they were on the way back to the train station.

“I don’t know, I am little bit afraid about the situation. It seems that he needs help, but he won’t accept any help, won’t he?”, Jin asked and looked at the other one.

“I don’t know, but he always was really stubborn and he always thought he can manage everything on his own.”

“I will go and visit him, maybe I am able to find something out.”, Jin said and started walking into the other direction.

“What, now?”, Jun knitted his eyebrows and looked at Jin before he ran after him. “I come with you”, he said and grasped for Jin’s hand instinctively.

Jin winced in utter surprise because of the touch, but let Jun’s fingers crossing with his and breathed in deeply. It somehow calmed him down to feel someone next to him.

Some time later they reached Kame’s home and knocked there.

Kame heard someone on the door and walked outside to take a look who was disturbing him.

“What are you doing here?”, he said harshly when he saw Jin and Jun in front of him.

“Holy crap, you look terrible, Kazu!”, Jin yelled out and looked at Jun, who only stared at Kame with his mouth wide open.
“Thanks for coming by and telling me this. And now, bye!”, he said and wanted to close the door, but both boys leaned against it, so he couldn’t do as he wanted to.

“No way, we come in now”, Jin growled and pushed Kame slowly back into the apartment.

The living room was nearly empty and also the sleeping room and kitchen were meager furnished.

“Where are your parents?”, Jun asked when they reached the living room.

“Not here”, Kame grumbled and crossed his arms when he sat down on the chair next to the couch.
