Note 2: The story is dedicated and somehow requested by [info]lilly0, but she has no idea what it is about. She had to choose between numbers and letters, and each was a pairing and setting, and so 2-B-white is Tackey/Ryo, AU and crime. ^^ And thanks for choosing a title to [info]sweetspicyhot

Ryo stared at the scene in front of him and didn't know what to do now. He heard Tackey's voice resounding in his ear, but it was already far away. He now knew what caused the waves. He saw a rope on a bar above him, and the body of a middle aged man was wiping forth and back, just a little bit, and hardly recognizable, but the computer checked it.

Ryo felt a strange feeling in his body when he saw the dead body in front of him and he walked back around the corner. He breathed in deeply before he walked back and saw a note on the chest of the body.

Just the beginning....two days left, and just one thing: this man wasn't connected to the case in any kind of way.

Ryo didn't dare to take the note, because of the fingerprints and called his coworkers to come by. He sat down in Tackey's car and tried to get away the sickness he felt in this moment. Actually he wasn't afraid of seeing corpse, but he absolutely didn't count with it, and that's why he needed a break.

He heard a car driving into the building lot and saw a taxi stopping there. He saw Tackey jumping out of it, and he started to run up to him. His worried expression made Ryo smiling a little bit. “Everything alright?” he reached the car and saw Ryo nodding at him.

“Sure, I just didn't count with this. I thought I would go to fight with someone, or maybe I thought I'd get some information, but finding a corpse wasn't in my head.” Ryo tried to smile and leaned back against the car's backrest.

“I will take a look at it. You called the others?” Tackey saw Ryo nodding and touched his shoulder slightly before he went around the building to see the victim. He put on his gloves before he searched in the pockets, but he couldn't find anything. He left the note and waited till the securing of evidence arrived and took the note from the body after they were finished with their work. Ryo waited in the car during the whole time and Tackey had to smile slightly when he saw the other one's pale face.

Luckily no one asked why Tackey and Ryo found that body, because at some points the others stopped asking about Tackey's way of investigating. They knew he was the head of this case, even though it concerned his own family, but no one dared to take away the work from him. So they let him do whatever he wanted to.

“I never thought you have problems with dead bodies.” Tackey smiled when he sat into the car and started it.

“Actually I haven't when I know it, but this was too surprising for me, and I didn't count with it. That's anything.” Ryo leaned his head against the window and looked down at the bag in his hands. Tackey collected the note and some other things which were lying around the location.

“What's this?” Ryo pointed at a small bough. “There is a small thread on it. Do you see it? Maybe it's from a pullover or a trouser or something like that. Maybe it's the killer's.”

“I will check anything in my computer. Did you make any pictures?”

“I tried it, but I don't know if I succeeded.” Tackey smiled slightly and parked his car in the garage.

“Let's find it out.”

They went back to Tackey's apartment and headed to the desk. Ryo looked at the pictures the other one made and pointed at the monitor in utter surprise. “Why didn't I see this?” He clicked on some buttons and the picture zoomed. They could see a dark person standing in the background of the building, looking in Ryo's direction. “It could be him.” Ryo thought loudly and saw Tackey nodding at his words.

“Can we make a close up? Maybe we can find out who it is.” Tackey stared at the small and slender figure on the screen. He could definitely say that this was a man, but that wouldn't be enough to find the killer.

“I can try it. And I will check this thread you found there. Maybe we can put together a profile of him.” Ryo put the bough under the small camera and saw a light wandering above it. Step by step it got scanned into his system and finally the picture started to rotate on the monitor. “It's analyzing right now.” After some moments they got the further information about it.

“It's Rei's. She has exactly the same pullover.” Tackey's hands started to shiver when he saw the small cloth for children appearing on the screen.

“The fact why he found the details for this pullover is that this thread is only made in a special area around Italy. It's saved in the data of the program, because you get it nowhere else than there.” Ryo explained and saw Tackey's sad eyes were still resting on the screen. “She was there last year with her parents, they bought this for her. She was so proud to wear such a pullover, she begged days to get this one.” Tackey pressed his lips together and felt the anger in him rising up. He wanted this killer, and he wanted to bring him to his punishment, no matter what. And he hoped it wasn't too late for his niece to find her.

“So he had her with him? But why?” Ryo rubbed above his chin and tried to think about a reason, but nothing came into his mind.

“And the person on the background, can you figure something out?”

Ryo turned and twisted the picture from the guy and finally got a result. He is tall and not that thin as it looks like on this picture. The program calculates that it's not a Japanese guy we have here. Maybe a foreigner or at least half-half.” Ryo summarized the facts.

“So we have a more or less rich, maybe half, maybe non-Japanese guy, who kills on every 17th of a month and drowns all the children he kidnaps. And he seems to be connected to me, because he wants me, that's why he took my niece.” Tackey wrote down all the points, but it didn't help him in any kind of way.

“I don't understand why he took so much children when it seems he is only interested in you?”

“He wants to hurt me, and he knows he gets me with a case like this, especially because he seems to know how much I love my niece, and how close we are. It's the point which hurts me most.” Tackey answered and felt some small tears in his eyes. Actually he wasn't teary and he didn't cry in front of others, but the thought of a life without the child's laughter he loved most broke his heart into thousand pieces.

Ryo nodded and tried to ignore the tears he saw in the other one's eyes. He didn't know what to say, but luckily Tackey broke the silence again. “I am sorry, normally I am not crying that easily, but I think it's a difficult situation right now, and I am restless, because I have no idea what I shall do.” Ryo took one of his handkerchiefs and gave it to the other one. Somehow he was embarrassed in this moment, because he didn't count with that. He saw Tackey as the strong and also cold character, but not like he was right now.

A long silence appeared between them and it seemed both of them didn't know what they should say in these moments. “I think I will drive to the hotel now, our work is done for today, and I long for a shower and a bed.” Tackey nodded shortly at him and guided him to the entrance door.

“Can you come by tomorrow morning? I think we can start with the research and investigation again, and maybe, maybe this time we find something.”

“Sure, I'll come by then and  hopefully we don't get another horrible information on a Origami figure.” Ryo smiled sadly and walked down the corridor. They had two days left, and they were still in the dark. The traces they had didn't bring them any further, and somehow Ryo had the feeling that anything was too late. He still hoped to find the killer, but two days were nothing when he thought of the less facts they had.

He walked down the street and closed his coat, because the sudden cold wind let shivers running down his spine. He reached his hotel half an hour later and stretched his arms a bit when he walked upstairs. The little walk helped him to collect his thoughts, even though he didn't get any blizzard which hit him with a great idea.

He stopped walking when he saw a small light on the corridor and his heart beat faster when he recognized that it was the door to his room which was slightly open. He walked slowly closer and put his gun out of his pocket. He couldn't hear anything, but that didn't mean that no one was in the room anymore. He hid behind the wall and pulled the door open before he jumped in with the gun raised up in the air.

He couldn't see anything, but his clothes were lying around on the floor and anything was in a total mess. He couldn't think of what the burglar was searching for, but he didn't count with the fact that any things were at Tackey's place – Tackey, he had to call him, before someone would try to break in his apartment.

He dialed the other one's number three times, but no one answered the call. Ryo got more and more nervous and bit on his fingernails, while he tried to reach him again and again. He closed the door and decided to keep quiet about this thing for now, and just started to run back to Tackey's apartment to check if anything was alright.

He tried to call him various times when he ran back, but Tackey didn't pick it up. He reached the house, and everything seemed to be normal. The light was still burning in Tackey's flat, but that didn't mean that anything was alright.
