Everything begins to change when they have to make a summer holiday trip with their parents. But what if one falls in love with another guest? What if one of them recognizes feelings for his brother - Is everything too late then?
Note 2: Written for the [info]ryoxjin  welcome challenge! (Sorry, it's no one shot, but a short multi chapter...I didn't want to hurry with my idea for this story, so I parted it in some chapters. :)))

Ryo blinked and couldn't believe what Jin said right before. “What?” he asked and knelt down in front of his brother. He could see the tears running down Jin's cheeks, it was a strange situation for him, because normally Jin didn't cry that openhearted.

They called my mother right before and told her that he had an accident. She is on the way to Osaka right now to clear up some things. Even though they weren't married anymore they liked each other. And I saw him very often, but you know that, so I am sorry for telling you this”, Jin stuttered and stared on the ground.

He felt Ryo's hand on his cheeks, wiping away some tears in his eyes. “I am really sorry Jin, I will be there if you need something.”, Ryo answered and forgot about the plan to avoid his brother. He couldn't see him suffering like this and his heart ached when he saw him sitting there, the teardrops were falling on the ground and he only stared at them without any passion or feeling in his eyes.

Jin nodded and looked up a bit. He felt totally exhausted and his thoughts were spinning around, causing him head ache. “Do you want to go for dinner now?” Ryo asked softly, but Jin only shook his head and lied down in the bed. He couldn't think of standing up and walking out of the room right now. Ryo nodded and promised to bring him something later. He wanted to eat with his father and he promised to be back right after he was done.

Downstairs Ryo met his father, who seemed to be lost and somehow depressed. “Ah, son”, he said and smiled at him. “Hey”, Ryo just said and both looked at each other for one moment.

How's he?” Ryo looked at his father and poked in his food. “Bad I think. Why didn't he drove with his mother to Osaka?” he wanted to know.

We thought it would be better for him to calm down before we drive back. Mia will be back tomorrow, she only drives there to manage some things, but it will take some time till they can make the funeral and all the stuff. Jin really has to be strong now, and he needed to calm down before we drive back. We both thought it would be the best for him.” Ryo nodded and got lost in his thoughts. The rest of the meal they kept quiet and only stared at their food. Both of them didn't feel that hungry in this moment. “Take something for your brother.” Ryo nodded and took the plate with some of the Onigiri and Sushi to their room.

Ryo saw Jin lying on the bed, and he saw that his brother wasn't asleep at all. He walked up to the bed and put the plate on the night stand. “If you get hungry”, Ryo only said and sat on his side of the bed. He crossed his legs and stared at Jin. He could see some drained tears in his eyes and he was breathing deeply now, but as far as Ryo could see it, he wasn't crying anymore. Ryo bit on his lips and thought of something he could say, but nothing came into his mind. He really had no idea how to handle the situation and was glad when he saw Jin sitting up a bit.

Last night I held you in my arms, and I felt comfortable. I know we are brothers and actually nothing else can be between us, and I understand that you don't want anything else, but can I hold you in my arms for a second night? I really want to feel the warmth and comfort again”, Jin looked at Ryo who only nodded and swallowed the knot in his throat. He didn't know what he should answer to such honest and loving words. Jin smiled sadly and built a silent “thanks” on his lips.

I will take a shower now”, Jin said and stood up half an hour later of silence. Before Jin stood up Ryo heard him sobbing from time to time, and he placed his hand on Jin's back to stroke above it when he felt that the other one needed some comfort. He nodded and looked at Jin who disappeared in the bathroom. Ryo sighed and rubbed above his face. He wasn't good in solacing someone else and he didn't know what words he should use, or what he could talk about in this situation.

It was late in the evening now and Ryo felt the tiredness overwhelming him. He lied back in the bed and closed his eyes. He heard the other one returning to the room and saw the lights got dark. He felt Jin lying down next to him, but he didn't do anything to get him closer to him.

Ryo sat up a bit and looked at his brother who winced because of Ryo's move. “I thought you were already sleeping”, Jin smiled slightly and saw Ryo shaking his head. Jin could see that his brother didn't know what he should do and he saw him biting on his lips. Jin lied on his back and turned to Ryo who seemed to understand and lied down on his brother's chest again.

He was already snoozing away when he felt Jin's hand on his back, stroking softly up and down, and circling his fingers around his shoulder blades. Ryo felt the goose bumps on his skin and he felt a well known feeling rising up in him. He knew what this feeling meant and he really wished it wouldn't be there, or maybe he wished it would appear – he couldn't say what he really wanted.

He smelled Jin's scent when he closed his eyes and felt the warmth of his skin on his cheek. In the corner of his eyes he could see Jin had his eyes closed and a small smile appeared around his lips. “You are smiling?”, Ryo asked and looked up at his brother.

As I told you, I feel the warmth and comfort with you. I accept that you don't feel anything for me, Ryo, but just give me these minutes. I really need them now”, Jin answered without looking at the other one. He didn't want to force Ryo into something he didn't want to, but with his brother in his arms Jin felt save and loved. And even though Ryo didn't feel the same for him like he did, he knew that they'd get along much better from now on. Jin was able to forget about the pain for a moment and just get lost in his thoughts of the day they spent on the sea and the fun they had together.

He shook his head when he thought about Ryo's sparkling eyes and about Ryo's love which got reflected in his sights, but maybe it was only Jin's imagination. “I got beaten up some years ago”, Ryo said out of the blue and broke the silence with it.

What are you talking about?” Jin pushed him away from him and turned around to face his brother. Ryo bit on his lips and cursed himself for saying this. He didn't know why he came up with this words, but maybe he just wanted to explain Jin why he had pushed him away.

Who did this to you?” Jin asked further and saw Ryo fighting with himself. “Tell me”, Jin insisted and saw Ryo looking at him before he told him about his stepfather and what he experienced some time ago.

Jin listened closely and nodded here and there when Ryo looked at him. He couldn't believe that he never got to know about Ryo's past and his almost cruel family. “And my father is the best thing which ever happened to me”, Ryo said finally and looked up to his brother. Before he could say anything else he recognized what he had said in this moment and closed his eyes while he cursed himself.

I am sorry, I didn't want to talk about my father...about fathers...about … I am sorry”, he stuttered and saw Jin shaking his head.

It's alright, Shrimp. But why are you telling me all this things right now?”, Jin asked and curled some of Ryo's hair between his fingers.

I am not a shrimp”, Ryo pouted and heard Jin laughing, at least for one time during this sad evening.

A/N: Only one chapter left, and it's somehow sad, because I really like them. maybe I should write another RyoJin. ^___^
